Overview of Counseling Staff and Techs

The Counselors at Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers are highly qualified as Drug and Alcohol Addiction Counselors while each one also has certain specialized fields of treatment. Every resident at Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar is assigned a counselor upon admittance and evaluation of his or her specific needs. This counselor will meet with the resident on an individual basis along with group sessions throughout the week. During the course of a stay at Astoria Pointe or The Rosebriar, the counseling staff is dedicated to guiding their residents through a course of self-discovery and learning tools needed to live a clean and sober life after leaving the facilities.

Our counselors are committed to clients’ gaining and maintaining a level of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness in the time they are at our facilities. There is always a counselor available for immediate attention if any urgency evolves and there is always a staff member available around the clock to assist with inquiries, questions or any situation that may require action to be taken at once. All client sessions are highly confidential with the privacy and anonymity of the client being our foremost concern.

Working with the counseling personnel are the “techs”. These employees run the floor and assist with everything from getting someone to the emergency room to what movie is being watched this week. They pride themselves in being efficient, caring and upbeat. There is strong comradery and teamwork between each other and the counselors, to maintain a warm and compassionate environment while being professional and prepared for any situation that may arise. Staff at Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar have been trained and certified in CPR and first aid techniques.

There are generally two techs on duty per shift. While one tech watches and handles the front desk, the other moves about the facility. When visiting both of our facilities, you will hear the sounds of laughter fill the air and notice the many smiling faces. It is obvious when you come here that the staff truly care and love their profession: as a result the atmosphere is positive and full of hope. Staff Bios
